Toys For Tots Ride & Del Mar Horse Races
This year’s event will be held on 24 November starting point for motorcycles and East County Off Road Club will be at Moto World on Magnolia Boulevard.
This will be our 11th year, putting the event together and is our seventh year with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. This event is open to all motorcycles and car clubs. There will be free parking and free admission to the Del Mar Racetrack with your donation of a new unwrapped toy. Thank you to the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, for graciously allowing anyone that brings a toy to the Scratch Run Gate to enter free and for giving us seating us in the grandstands.
The San Diego Toys for Tots Event, is all about collecting toys and money to give to the Marine Reserves so that they can in turn give toys to the kids in San Diego. All money collected is given to the Marines so they can buy toys as needed per-gender and age due to shortages. In the past 10 years we have donated over 17,000 toys and over $173,000.
The San Diego Toys for Tots Event was started with only 30 bikes and an attempt to help the marines get toys to help fill their orders that come at Thanksgiving the second year we had 62 motorcycles and our third year we had 111. Our fourth year we grew to 250 motorcycles in our first year at the Del Mar Racetrack.
